Detailed program
24 October - Day 1: Welcome to Thiruvananthapuram!
Trivandrum is the vibrant and welcoming capital of Kerala. You'll be amazed by the rich culture and spirituality from day one. After settling into comfortable accommodation at Uday Suites, An Airport Hotel, we begin with a tour of the surrounding Padmanabhaswamy Temple, where history and devotion mingle in a mystical atmosphere, and the Kuthiramalika Palace.
25-26-27 October - Days 2 to 4: Wellness retreat in Varkala
Head for Varkala, a coastal gem renowned for its cliffs overlooking the Arabian Sea, where you'll stay at Lumuma Yoga Resort. In this haven of peace, you'll take part in a wellness retreat led by Eva, where yoga, breathwork and meditation will guide you towards a state of inner peace. Enjoy the pristine beaches and enchanting sunsets for an unforgettable experience.
Lunch is not included, leaving everyone free to eat on the cliff at their leisure. Additional treatments not included can be provided, such as a Gua Sha massage, a Reiki energy treatment or a Watsu session (by prior arrangement).
Check-out at 12 noon and departure for Kollam after lunch. Overnight in Kollam at the Samiira On Ashtamudi Lake.
28 October - Day 5: Amma Ashram in Kollam
Visit the Amritapuri ashram, where compassion and spirituality meet. Meet Amma, the revered mother figure who spreads joy through her comforting embrace (subject to her presence in Kerala on this date). Lunch is not included, as you will be in the middle of visiting the ashram.
Departure for Kochi in the late afternoon of 28 October and accommodation at Ananda Cherai in Cherai Beach.
Days 6 to 10 of this yoga retreat in India are devoted to your Ayurvedic cure combined with the practice of gentle yoga and powerful meditations to reconnect you with your deepest self (1 treatment and 1 yoga session per day, except on the day of the walk in Fort Kochi). You will also visit the ancient city of Fort Kochi, take a cruise on the backwaters and watch traditional Kerala dance performances.
29 October - Day 6: Start of Ayurvedic treatments
Meeting with the Ayurvedic doctor to set the personalised treatments and start the treatments, yoga and rest.
30 October - Day 7: Backwaters cruise
Embark on an enchanting cruise along the backwaters of Kerala, a network of winding canals lined with lush coconut palms and picturesque villages. Let yourself be lulled by the tranquillity of this unique experience, admiring the spectacular scenery and soaking up authentic local life. On your return, continue your Ayurvedic treatments and end the evening with a guided meditation under the setting sun.
31 October - Day 8: Exploration of Fort Kochi
Continue your yoga retreat in India by exploring the fascinating history of Fort Kochi, where colonial remains blend with traditional Indian culture and contemporary art. Stroll through the narrow streets lined with colourful houses, visit the ancient churches, the synagogue and browse the antique shops. It's a journey back in time, with a captivating story behind every corner. Finish off the evening with a performance of Kathakali, Kerala's traditional form of dance theatre.
As the walk is quite long, there is no Ayurvedic treatment or yoga this evening.
Lunch and dinner not included.
1 November - Day 9: Learning the basics of Ayurvedic cooking
As well as your Ayurvedic treatments and yoga session, take part in an Ayurvedic cookery class so you can leave with healthy eating habits in your suitcase.
